Early sowings in pots or trays under glass at 13°C. Later sowings direct in growing site 1cm deep.

What to do next

Glasshouse sowings should be thinned to 5-6cm apart before gradually hardening off and planting out in April 25cm apart. Outdoor sowings should be gradually thinned to eventual spacing of 25cm. The thinning's can be potted for winter use. Can tolerate very slight frost.

Maturity

June onwards.

Handy Tip

Although Parsley leaves will be available during most of the winter, a potted up plant on a windowsill ensures a winter supply. When sowing Parsley outdoors, poor boiling water into the seed drills first to kill off weed seeds and to warm up the soil, thus increasing germination.
