Helenium

Helenium seeds produce cheery, colourful, hardy flowers. They are great flowers for the middle of the border. These perennials burst into life in early summer and you will see new shots emerge. Depending on variety, some can grow between 90cm -  120cm tall. For tall growing types, it may be a good idea to stake the shoots to keep them upright,  unless supported by neighbouring plants. Sow Heleniums in a sunny position, in soil that isn't quick to dry out, as they do not tolerate drought well.
