Agralan Glue Bands - 1.75 metres

Agralan Glue Bands

These bands are coated with a non-drying glue which forms a very effective barrier against insects such as earwigs, winter moths, ants, adult vine weevils and other crawling insects.
Use from October until April to protect from winter moths and again from May until August for protection against ants.
A pesticide-free way of protecting ornamental and fruit trees and crops from insects!
Simple to use, just wrap around the stems of crops to form a barrier and prevent insects from climbing up to the fruits and leaves.
The green colour of the band is not attractive to beneficial insects.
Approximately 1.75m Glue band and 4.25m of Biodegradable string included. Can protect up to 8 average size trees.

How to Use Glue Bands
Place the band around the tree trunk, below the lowest branch and ideally 60-90cm (2-3 feet) above the ground.
If the tree is supported by a stake, it is vital that the stake is also banded.
Remove any loose bark, moss or lichen before placing the glue band. Measure the length of band 3cm longer than the circumference of the tree and then cut to size with scissors.
Carefully pull the sides apart to completely expose the area of the glue. Stretch and wrap around the tree trunk.
The glue on the overlap will hold the band in position while a length of string is tied around above and below the glue area.
Check regularly that debris is not stuck to the glue as this may form a 'bridge' for insects to cross the barrier.
Remove string and band after 6 months.

The bands are made from a special non-toxic, non-drying glue which is coated onto green, waterproof paper.
