When to Sow Didiscus caerulea Lacy Blue Seeds

Sow March to April Undercover or sow May to June direct outdoors.
Plant out May to June.

Flowers

July to late September.

Where to Sow

Sow seeds Direct into a well-prepared flowering site about 1cm (1⁄2”) deep and lightly cover with soil. Water site if dry and germination usually takes place within 21 days.
Alternatively Sow seeds into pot or trays filled with a seed sowing compost under cover. Lightly cover seeds with a springling of compost or vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of 18-20C (68-70F) where germination will usually take place within 14-21days. 

What to do Next

Thin out Direct sown seedlings once big enough to handle to 30-40cm (12-16in) apart.  
Transplant indoor sown plants when large enough to handle into trays or individual pots. Gradually acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed. Plants may require staking with a thin stick.

Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window or deadhead.
