When to Sow Atlas Black Pansy Seeds

Feb, March or June to September. Plant out May to June or September to October depending on sowing times.

Flowers

November to September, depending on the sowing time.

Where to Sow

On the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place at a temperature between 15-20°C (59-68°F). Do not exclude light as this helps germination which is usually 14-21 days. Too high a temperature can prevent germination.

What to do Next

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 23cm (9") apart, or plant into containers. Overwinter September sowings in a cold frame then plant out the following spring

Handy Tip

Ideal for winter and spring or summer displays.
