Where to Sow  

Sow seed onto the surface of  pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place container in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 15-20C (59-68F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination, which can take 1-4 months.


What to do next  

When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Plant out once plants are well grown, 30cm (12in) apart in a  well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
Handy Tip  Although Half Hardy , plants will often overwinter , to help with this always leave all the foliage on the plants through the winter , and cut back in April when new basal growth appears.
