Where to Sow

On the surface of good free-draining seed compost in pots or trays. Lightly cover with a very fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25°C until germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.

What to do Next

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatize plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 30cm (12") apart.

Add a few plants to the center of a container on a sunny patio to create that exotic feel to your display.
