WHERE TO SOW

Outdoors sow seeds where they are required to flower in shallow drills in rows 30cm (12") apart in well cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine crumbly texture.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

Thin out seedlings when large enough to handle to 15-30cm (6-12") apart. Seeds can also be sown undercover in pots or trays filled with seed compost and lightly covered with sieved compost or vermiculite. Place at a temperature of 18-25°C (65-75°F). Once hardened off they can be planted out after all risk of frost has passed.

Flowers

July onwards

HANDY TIP

Plant in borders where they will get a gentle breeze. This will allow the tall stems to add some movement to your garden.
