Either in a pot or tray under glass at 20° C. Germination can be erratic and slow.

How to Grow

Sow seed thinly on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Either gently press the seed into the compost or cover seed with a light vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of between 15- 20C (59-68°F) Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost slightly dry to avoid damping off; germination can be slow and erratic. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3") pots or trays. Acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 10-15days before planting out in spring, after all risk of frost, 1m (3") apart. For best results, provide a fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
