Aubergine Jack Pot F1

Jackpot seeds produce dark purple, shiny fruits. Exceptionally early establishment, fruits can be harvested small, as a true baby vegetable, reaching around 80grams. Spineless with good flavour. Prolific cropping over a long period.

This variety produces compact plants which makes them great for growing in pots on patios, or in a greenhouse. Plants may need to be supported with string or canes.

When to Sow Jackpot Aubergine Seeds

January to April. Germination typically takes 7-10 days.

Where to Sow

Space the seeds 2cm (¾") apart in seed trays or two to a cell in modules under glass at 20°C. Cover seeds lightly with vermiculite or finely sieved compost.

What to do next

As soon as two full leaves have developed, prick off seedlings into individual pots. Grow on and plant into grow-bags or large pots. Plants can be grown in containers outside in a sunny sheltered spot. Feed plants as soon as first fruits set, once a week with a high potash tomato food.

Harvest

July to October. Jackpot aubergines are usually ready to harvest 8-9 weeks after sowing.

Handy Tip

Move patio plants into a cool conservatory as autumn approaches so the last fruits of the season have time to mature fully.
