When to Sow Red Alert Tomato Seeds

Where to Sow
Sow seeds underglass 0.5cm (1/4 in) deep in pots or trays of damp, seed sowing compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite or compost. Place containers in a propagator at a constant temperature of 18–21°C. Germination occurs in approximately 7-14 days.
What to do next
When the seedslings are large enough to handle Prick out into 9cm (3.5in) pots.
When they tomato plants are 20cm high, transplant again to individual large pots, growbags with 3 plants in each, or into hanging baskets. Can also be planted outdoors once all risk of frost has past, and once the young plants have been hardened off and acclimatised to the outdoor conditions.
Plants have a bushy habit and do not require sideshooting. Water and feed plants regularly with a high potash feed once the first truss has set.
