When to Sow Russell Noble Maiden White Lupin Seeds

Early April to early June. Soak seed overnight 12 - 15 hours before sowing.

Where to Sow

In open ground or cold frame. Choose a position which is in full or partial sun, with well drained soil. We would suggest that when watering the seed if possible you use a Soluble Fungicide to prevent damping off, which can cause the plant to wilt and die back. Russell Noble Maiden Lupins can take up to 30 days to germinate.

When to Transplant

Thin out seedlings as they grow to around 5-7cm to 5cm apart. Plant out Lupins during September and October with spacings 30cm apart. They will flower throughout the following summer.

What to do Next

Keep the plants fairly moist to prevent drying out. Cut the flower stalks after the first bloom to encourage growth of second spikes.
