Reputed to have many medicinal properties, being used as a gargle, or poultice for ulcers and bites, also as an eye-wash. Leaves and seeds used for various stomach upsets. Largish, flat, green leaves and yellowish green flower spikes. Height 40cm.

WHEN TO TRANSPLANT

When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off into pots or boxes and grow on.  Gradually harden off and plant out in September or October spacing 30cm apart for flowering the following summer.
