THISTLE SCOTTISH or COTTON (Onopordum acanthium) Bi

Naturalised. Grey leaved giant. Superb architectural plant with purple flower heads. Said to have been used for treating cricks in the neck. Hardly surprising! Also known as donkey thistle.

Height: tall, and wide spreading.

Please take care when handling as the thorns are very sharp, and although the plants aren't poisonous, they can cause a rash.
