Scarlet pimpernels have pale red - scarlet coloured flowers, with 5 petals. They are an annual wildflower but as they grow profusely, they are also regarded as a weed. Self-pollinating.
Low grown flowers from June to August.

Habitat: arable fields. Primulaceae.
