Farming Minister Mark Spencer Visits Kings
On Thursday 2nd May 2024, the Farming Minister, Mark Spencer joined local MP Priti Patel visiting Kings Seeds.
Following the initial meeting in January with Priti, she raised the ongoing issues that we are facing with sending seeds to Northern Ireland, with the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), and invited the Minister to visit us to hear the problems we have been facing himself.
Following the implementation of the Windsor framework, we are still unable to send our mail-order seed packets to Northern Ireland. Our horticultural director Andrew Tokely gave the minister a tour of our business, before sitting down for a productive discussion.
The issues are being looked into, and we are doing everything we can to find a solution for our Northern Ireland customers in the future!
