Pantone Colour of The Year 2023
Inject your garden with some Viva Magenta! This bright and bold colour is beautiful, so no wonder it has made the Pantone Colour of the year. There is an array of flowers that come in magenta such as Petunias, Dahlias, Sweet Williams and more but we have chosen a few varieties below to take some of the hard work out of deciding what to grow.
Sweet Pea ‘Beaujolais’
A stunning sweet pea with large well scented flowers in a rich colour. The flowers grow on long stems around 180cm – 220cm tall. The perfect plant to grow up trellis or up and over an archway. Hardy Annual.
Ageratum ‘Red Sea’
Ageratums can be used for both a bedding or cut flower. This variety has a very strong purple red (Viva Magenta) colour and darkens as matures! Grows tall, up to 60cm. If using as a cut flower, it can last up to 3 weeks in a vase around the home. Hardy Annual
Cosmos ‘Rubinato’
These half hardy annuals are a Fleuroselect Novelty. The plants are compact yet well branched. The petals mature from various hues of burgundy to old rose, adding to the appeal. A beautiful contrast to the bright yellow centres, which are great for attracting bees! Blooms in the height of summer up until the first frosts. Great for cottage gardens.
Poppy Rhoeas ‘Pandora’
This variety of field poppy is truly stunning and is easy to grow from seed. Producing double to semi-double bi-colour blooms in burgundy to rose with streaks of silvery white.
